Cockatoo Island Ecological Restoration
From 2010 to 2017 Jeremy was in charge of rope access ecological restoration works on the slopes & cliff edges on UNESCO world heritage historical site Cockatoo Island as well as number of other sites around Sydney Harbor of historical significance. When work began, the landscape was extremely degraded with toxic soils from decades of industrial use. The Island is also a very significant Seagull nesting site on the cliffs surrounding the island. Through careful regenerative soil management & strategic diverse successional native plantings, these areas were restored to a healthy, safe & beautiful thriving ecosystem.
